 911 Cellular Continuously Reconnecting

Description

We are investigating several reports that 911 cellular button on the desktop on the NTIs appears to be reconnecting continuously.

 

The software company has opened up another portal to allow for more traffic to pass through their servers, which appeared to have resolved this issue.

 Network Outage — ESH 4th floor–Sunday 3/19/17 — 7 am to Noon

Start Time: 3/19/17 7:00 am - End Time: 3/19/17 12:00 pm

Description

Networking will be upgrading the switch servicing the 4th floor of ESH.  There will be no network access both wired and wireless, phone service, or remote access during this time.  There will be a brief outage for the NTP server time.umsl.edu, however no significant downtime is expected as peered NTP servers will be available.

 Intermittent MyGateway Issues

Description

March 13, 2017, 4:30a- 9:00a: Some users were seeing Status 500 error pages, slow login or parts of courses not loading.  We found a frontend web server that needed restarting.  Service should be restored now.

 Network Outage – ESH 2nd and 3rd Floors

Description

This Sunday, 3/12,  Express Scripts Hall second and third floor networking hardware will be migrated to new fiber.  During this migration there may be a brief network outage for wired and wireless devices on these floors.

 Printing Outage

Description

A number of users have reported error messages while printing this morning.  Users may experience issues printing.  We are working to resolve the issue.

 SSO Server Connection Issues

Description

From 6:27pm to 7:36pm sso.umsl.edu experienced issues connecting to external databases. This may have prevented some users from logging into MyGateway. This issue also affected the SSO ID Lookup and SSO Change Your Password services.

The affected services have been restarted. MyGateway logins and SSO lookups/password changes are working again.

 Canvas and MyGateway Services affected by Amazon outage

Description

Feb 28, 2017, noon to 4pm:  Due to the Amazon hosting outage, all of Canvas and some of the third-party services within MyGateway were unavailable for about 4 hours.  Amazon started to stabilize at 4pm but some services in Canvas, like uploading assignments and sending of notifications were slow or intermittent until about 8pm.  Some of the third-party services affected in MyGateway included Learning Objects wikis/blogs and most of the textbook publishers’ sites.  All services should be fully functional at this time.
