Update – 10pm

All systems have been re-synced and are operating normally.

UMSL Networking will be re-syncing and restarting our Identity Services cluster to address issues with guest wireless issues.  No user impact is expected, but new devices connecting to the UMSL network may experience delays during portions of the maintenance.

 Maintenance – Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Patching – 6/18/2026 10 PM

Start Time: 6/18/26 10:00 pm - End Time: 6/18/26 12:05 am

Description

Network Services will apply a software patch to the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to address a known memory leak.

Expected Impact:
No disruption to campus network access is anticipated during this maintenance. However, ISE is a critical authentication and authorization platform that controls access to network resources, including wireless connectivity, internet access, and other network services. While no outage is expected, there is a small risk that authentication services could be temporarily affected during the maintenance window.

  • Wired Network Authentication (802.1X/MAB)
  • Guest Network Access
  • Network Resource Authorization
  • Internet Access Authentication Services

 Campus VPN Authentication Issues – 6/15/2026

Description

Update – 6/15/26 2:40pm

VPN Services have been restored, and network engineers will continue to monitor services

 

UMSL Networking is investigating an authentication issue affecting the Campus VPN.

Remote access to campus resources via VPN and new authentication to TritonNetGuest may be affected.

 Mark Twain / RCEW network outage, 03/16/26 3:19pm

Description

Update 6:05pm

All network services in Mark Twain and RCEW have been restored

UPDATE 5:00 PM

The outage has been connected to a power failure affecting multiple buildings, including RCEW and Mark Twain. The estimated time to restore service is currently unknown.

 

 

Networking is investigating a network outage at Mark Twain.  all wired, wireless Internet and phones are affected.

Description

The issue with the network at the West County/Flushing Meadows location has been resolved.

 Stadler Hall Network Outage, 11/13/2025

Description

Power has been restored to affected network equipment.  Operations are restored

 

Networking is investigating a network outage in Stadler Hall that may be power related.  wired and wireless Internet as well as telephones are currently unavailable.

 Flushing Meadows/West County Location Network Outage

Description

We are currently experiencing a network issue at our Flushing Meadows/West County location affecting services. Networking technicians are current investigating the situation.

 

Network technicians identified the issues and have repaired the switch at this location. The network is now functioning as expected

 CNS Network Upgrade

Upgrade complete.  All users have been migrated to new hardware.
