 Google Drive File Moves

Description

Starting on Saturday, June 27th, IT will begin moving user’s Google MyDrive Data to their @umsystem.edu google account. This move should be seamless for most users. You will notice a new shared drive folder in your google drive that is used to assist in the move. It may have data in it from time to time. During the initial move to the @umsystem.edu google domain, we added links to the files in your old UMSL google account. We are now moving the actual data over. This move will make your @umsystem.edu google account the owner of the files as well. The entire move for all users is expected to take up to 4 weeks to complete as there is a great deal of data that is getting moved. You should not see any real changes to your google data and you can continue to use your google account as normal.

It you are having issues with your Google Drive files after the move, please contact the Technology Support Center.

 Windows Server Patching

Description

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to Windows servers.

There will be brief disruptions to:

  • Faculty/Staff MyDocuments and Department Shares
  • Campus print and fax services
  • TritonApps sessions
  • SharePoint sites
  • Remote Desktop Gateway

 Emergency phone maintenance

Description

Telephone Services are performing an emergency server reboot on the Mitel phone system to resolve ongoing issues with call routing and softphone service.  During this time, softphones will be unavailable and in-progress softphone calls will drop. Service will resume as soon as the server is back online.

 

The Mitel server rebooted successfully. Softphone functionality is restored and calls are now routing properly.

 Google Shared/Team Drive Move

Description

On Sunday, June 14th at 6:00 am, IT will be moving Google Shared/Team Drives to the @umsystem.edu google account. This move will be seamless for most users. If you happen to be in your account during the move, you may notice a duplicate drive appear and then see it disappear. The move is expected to be completed by noon. It you are having issues with your Google Shared/Team drive after the move, please contact the Technology Support Center.
