Delays with email delivery


UMSL has received reports of delays affecting incoming email messages to,, and other UM campus addresses, particularly from senders outside the university.  You may receive messages that were delayed by several hours, but ITS expects that all messages have been queued by the affected service provider, and should be delivered as soon as possible.  Messages sent between university students, faculty, and staff accounts are not expected to experience the same delays as outside senders, particularly if both sender and receiver are using Microsoft 365 email.
