The Networking team will upgrade the power supplies on our core network equipment. All devices are power redundant, so there should be no impact on our end users.

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected
SharePoint sites with sharepoint.com addresses will not be impacted

There will be brief/intermittent outages of all UMSL production Oracle databases while maintenance is being performed. Most web applications running on apps.umsl.edu, fusion.umsl.edu and coe.umsl.edu will be temporarily unavailable during the maintenance period.
PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected.

MOREnet informed us that our second route has been repaired. UMSL once again has fully redundant routes for campus internet connectivity.
Update: 3:48 PM
Internet service to UMSL has been restored. MOREnet has confirmed that repairs have been completed to one of our routes – fortunately, ahead of the original estimate.
MOREnet estimates the repair to our second route will occur tomorrow, 4/10/25. This will restore redundancy to our campus connectivity.

www.umsl.edu and https://mygateway.umsl.edu/ are now accessible from off campus

MOREnet, our Internet provider for campus, has given an estimated time for restoration (ETR). They anticipate one of our two “routes” to be restored this evening between 6 pm and midnight. This will return Internet to UMSL.
We will continue to post updates here and email meaningful updates as we learn more from MOREnet through the afternoon and this evening.
If you are off-campus or using a mobile hotspot from your phone, many UMSL resources are available to you. We have provided some direct links below.

The North route fiber has been cut by vandalism. The south route is still under investigation. No estimated time of repair (ETR)

We are experiencing an outage of MOREnet, our internet provider. The campus internet, in and out, is unavailable. Phones are still functional. MOREnet is working to address the issue.

Documents hosted on campus-hosted SharePoint domains should open in Office online applications now. There was a configuration issue with the application service.
SharePoint sites on campus-hosted domains may return an error when opening documents via web-enabled Office online applications. As a workaround, documents can be downloaded and opened with desktop versions of Office apps.
SharePoint sites with sharepoint.com addresses are not affected.
SharePoint admins are currently working to resolve the issue.

Scheduled maintenance is complete.
UMSL’s Internet Service Provider, MOREnet will once again be performing a software upgrade to their carrier circuits beginning at midnight on Saturday 4/5. During this time the Internet link to the UMSL’s remote sites will be intermittently disrupted. Specifically, the following locations will be affected:
West County Skills Lab (CETC)
STLPR @Grand Center
Lindell Eye Care
East St. Louis Eye Care
Children’s Advocacy Center, West Pine
