 MOREnet Internet maintenance – 12/30, midnight to 1am

MOREnet reports that software upgrades and associated equipment reboots are complete.

 

UMSL’s Internet Service Provider, MOREnet will be performing a software upgrade to their carrier circuits beginning at midnight on Monday, 12/30.  During this time the Internet link to the main campus as well as UMSL’s remote sites will be intermittently disrupted.  Specifically, the following locations will be affected:

UMSL campus

West County Skills Lab (CETC)

STLPR @Grand Center

Lindell Eye Care

East St. Louis Eye Care

Children’s Advocacy Center, West Pine

 Windows/Linux Server Patching – Fri Dec 20 5:30pm – 9:30pm

Delmar updates have completed

Update – Dec 20, 2024 – 9:45pm

Delmar is taking longer to update than expected but will be available shortly

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to Windows and Linux servers. There will be brief disruptions to:

  • TritonApps sessions
  • Unix home directories
  • Print and fax services
  • SharePoint sites
  • WWW sites
  • UMSL Blogs and other WordPress blogs
  • Library databases
  • Web applications running on apps.umsl.edu, fusion.umsl.edu and coe.umsl.edu

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected.

 Computer Education & Training Center – Network Outage – December 15, 2024,10:00 AM –

Description

UPDATE: December 16, 2024 11:30 am

The device was replaced, and the network was restored.

UPDATE: December 16, 2024 7:45 am

We have identified the failed device and will replace it soon.

UPDATE: December 16, 2024, 7:00 am

After gaining access to the building, we discovered that the network switch had failed. We are working on getting it replaced. At this moment, there is no estimated time of repair.

 

Decmeber 15, 2024, 10:00 am

The network team is investigating a network outage at CETC. All network and telephone services are affected.

 South Route Network Fiber Down

Description

One of our two internet connections are down due to a fiber cut in the central west end. Technicians are working to repair it. We are not currently experiencing an outage but we are monitoring.
