 Microsoft 365 services and features

Description

Microsoft has been addressing service-related issues affecting Exchange Online email, Teams, and SharePoint services.

ITS is still receiving reports of some intermittent issues, including:

  • Error messages when opening messages in Outlook
  • Error messages when accessing Outlook on the Web at https://outlook.office.com
  • Outlook search and Windows search
  • Delay in changing Teams status

Microsoft is working to resolve these issues with their services.

Unfortunately, the Microsoft issue impacts all methods, making it difficult to recommend a specific workaround. If your usual email client is not retrieving newer messages, please try another client (Outlook desktop application, Outlook on the web, email on your phone).

 https://help.umsl.edu – system upgrade

11/23/24: 6:24PM

The upgrade is now complete as of 5:00pm. Users should now be able to access https://help.umsl.edu. If issues are encountered please clear your browsers cache.

 

https://help.umsl.edu, will be unavailable during a scheduled system upgrade Saturday starting at 8:00am.
UM System technicians will be working with Cherwell/Ivanti to complete the upgrade. The upgrade is expected to be complete by mid to late afternoon on Saturday.

Description

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to servers. There will be brief disruptions to:

  • Print and fax services
  • TritonApps sessions
  • SharePoint sites (with umsl.edu and umsystem.edu addresses)
  • Remote Desktop Gateway

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected

SharePoint sites with sharepoint.com addresses will not be impacted

 Network Software Upgrades – 11/20, 2am-3am

Update – 11/20/2024, 3am

All scheduled network devices have been upgraded and rebooted

 

 

UMSL Networking will be upgrading software on network equipment throughout campus.  Wired and wireless Internet and telephone services will experience a 10 to 20 minute outage while equipment reboots.  The following list of buildings will be affected:

 CETC, West County Network Outage – 11/16/2024

Description

Update – November 18, 12:30pm

Power has been restored to the facility.  Internet and telephone services are also restored and tested.

Update – November 17, 8:00pm

Power has been restored to the facility.  Internet and telephones remain offline, but anticipate restoration by Monday, 8am.

 

Update – November 16, 8:40am

On-site representatives have confirmed the facility is without power.  Crews are being notified to restore power.   Network operations will be verified once power is restored.

 

 

UMSL Networking is investigating a network outage at CETC in West County.  Currently wired and wireless Internet as well as Telephones are unavailable at theit location.
