 Maintenance on campus telephone system COMPLETE

Description

The required system upgrades on the ShoreTel telephone system are complete.  Those with the ShoreTel Communicator application installed on their computer will need to upgrade their application before using it.  When ShoreTel Communicator is launched, it will prompt the user to install the upgrade.  Information and instructions on installing the ShoreTel Communicator upgrade are also available at http://www.umsl.edu/technology/phones/Instructions%20and%20Guides/upgrade.html.  Benton Hall Network Equipment

Description

An electrical issue caused the network switches in Benton Hall to reboot.  This affected network connectivity both wired, wireless, and phone service.  Network access should now be available.

 Maintenance on campus telephone system

Start Time: 2/28/16 12:00 am - End Time: 2/28/16 3:00 pm

Description

Information Technology Services will perform required system upgrades on the ShoreTel telephone system.  The entire ShoreTel telephone system will be out of service beginning Sunday, February 28th at 12:00 a.m.  During the upgrade, calls cannot be made or received, and voicemail messages cannot be left or retrieved.  Elevator phones and emergency blue light phones in parking lots and outdoor areas will continue to operate.  If there is an emergency during the upgrade, dial 314-516-5155 from a non-campus or cell phone. A restoration notice will go out as soon as services are available again.

 Linux server patching

There will be brief disruptions to:

 Desktop Panic Buttons

Description

As of 3/2/16 the Desktop Panic Buttons are functioning as they should.  Please continue to dial 314-516-5155 if you can or use the panic button as needed.

 

The 911Cellular desktop panic buttons are currently not functioning. 911Cellular is working on the issue. Please dial 516-5155 if you have an emergency. The company hopes to have this resolved shortly.

 VPN Maintenance

Start Time: 2/21/16 6:00 am - End Time: 2/21/16 11:00 am

Description

Network Support will be working on the VPN hardware. VPN services will be intermittent during this time. Service should be restored by 11:00am.

Users may need to upgrade the version of VPN software running on their system.

If an upgrade is necessary it will be done automatically once the user is logged into the VPN.

 Apps.umsl.edu error messages

Description

An issue was identified that may have affected a small number of users when browsing apps.umsl.edu.  Some users may have encountered error messages for a short time.  This issue has now been resolved.

 Panopto Outage occurred Friday 1/12 10:10am-10:20am

Description

Panopto services were interrupted when  server power supplies were accidental unplugged,   10:10am – 10:20am.

It is currently up and working properly.
