 UMSL Remote Site Network Outage, 7/12/2023

Description

UMSL is aware of an AT&T network outage that is affecting Internet, telephone and wireless Internet access to the following remote sites:

Children’s Advocacy Center – West Pine

Children’s Advocacy Center – Kirkwood

Computer Education and Training Center

STLPR @ Grand Center

Lindell Optometric Center

East Saint Louis Optometric Center

 

We are in communication with out vendor and will provide status updates when we have them.

 Network Mantenance MSCGN switch reboot Sunday 5/7/23 6:30am

Start Time: 5/7/23 6:30 am - End Time: 5/7/23 7:00 am

Description

ITS will need to restart the network equipment in MSC Garage North for software maintenance, should take approximately thirty minutes.

 Brief Network Outage, CNS Building

Description

Networking is aware of an issue causing a brief network outage for users in the Center for Nano Science building.

Wired, wireless Internet and telephones were affected.

 Network Outage – East St. Louis Optometric Clinic, 4/6/2023

Description

Networking is currently investigating a network outage at the East St. Louis Optometric Clinic.

 

Wired, wireless Internet and telephones are affected.

 

1:00pm update – AT&T has a fiber cut they are currently resolving ETA 3 to 8 hours.

 Research Building 3rd floor Network Outage

Description

The third floor data closet network equipment is down due to a water pipe break resulting in switch failure.  This will affect upper floors in Research as well.  Facilities is aware of the issue, no ETA for repairs.

 Internet Edge Maintenance – 1/27/2023, 10pm to 2am

Start Time: 1/27/23 10:00 pm - End Time: 1/28/23 2:00 am

Description

UMSL Networking will be continuing software maintenance and failover testing equipment connecting campus to the Internet.  Internet access to and from Campus may be disrupted during the failover tests.

 

Failover tests successful.  Work completed @12:02am
