Server updates have been applied successfully

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to servers. There will be brief disruptions to:

  • TritonApps sessions
  • Unix home directories
  • Printing services
  • WWW sites
  • UMSL Blogs and other WordPress blogs
  • Library databases
  • Web applications running on apps.umsl.edu
  • fileshare.umsl.edu
  • Oracle databases

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected.

 UMSL Oracle Database Maintenance – Fri August 21 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Description

There will be brief/intermittent outages of all UMSL production Oracle databases during scheduled maintenance.  During this time, most web applications hosted on apps.umsl.edu may experience temporary connectivity interruptions.

PeopleSoft applications, including MyView and MyHR, will not be affected and will remain available throughout the maintenance window.

 Network Notice: Internet Route Outage – August 13, 2026 11:30 AM –

Description

 

August 13, 2026 11:30 AM – Network Advisory –

We are currently experiencing an outage on one of our Internet routes with MOREnet. Traffic has successfully failed over to redundant routes, and there is currently no impact to services.

The Networking Team is working with MOREnet to resolve the issue and will provide updates as they become available.

 Network Maintenance Notification – VPN Configuration Update – August 12, 2026 5:00 AM –

Start Time: 8/12/26 5:00 am - End Time: 8/12/26 6:00 am

Description

Maintenance  Update

The Cisco VPN update has been completed successfully. The configuration changes were tested across multiple Windows, Macs, and mobile devices, and the VPN is now successfully launching the default web browser as expected.

The updated configuration also provides the necessary support for phishing-resistant MFA on additional operating systems. Testing was successful, and no further issues have been identified at this time.

Status: Completed Successfully

 

 

Network Maintenance Notification – VPN Configuration Update

To strengthen our security posture and improve VPN resilience against malicious activities, the Networking Team will be implementing configuration updates to our VPN environment.

Impact:

  • No service interruption is anticipated.
  • Business operations will remain unaffected.
  • Users may notice slight changes to the VPN authentication or login process.

These enhancements are part of our ongoing efforts to provide a secure and reliable remote access experience.

Service Network-VPN


 Network Outage – East St. Louis Eye Center – August 8, 2026 – 7 am

Description

Update – 12:30 PM –

The network has been restored.

 

 

Update – 10:00 AM –

MOREnet has reported a suspected fiber cut as the likely cause of the current service disruption.

Their repair teams are investigating and assessing the damage.

An estimated time to repair (ETR) has not yet been provided.

We will share additional information as soon as it is available.

 

Network Outage – East St. Louis Eye Center – 7:00 AM

The Network Team is currently investigating a network outage at the East St. Louis Eye Center. At this time, the site has no network connectivity, including wired and wireless services, as well as telephone connectivity.

The team is actively troubleshooting to determine the root cause and restore services as quickly as possible. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
