Update – 10pm

All systems have been re-synced and are operating normally.

UMSL Networking will be re-syncing and restarting our Identity Services cluster to address issues with guest wireless issues.  No user impact is expected, but new devices connecting to the UMSL network may experience delays during portions of the maintenance.

Update –

Server updates have been applied successfully

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to servers. There will be brief disruptions to:

  • TritonApps sessions
  • Unix home directories
  • Print and fax services
  • SharePoint sites (with locker / mylocker domains)
  • WWW sites
  • UMSL Blogs and other WordPress blogs
  • Library databases
  • Web applications running on apps.umsl.edu
  • fileshare.umsl.edu

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected.

SharePoint sites with sharepoint.com addresses will not be impacted

 Maintenance – Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Patching – 6/18/2026 10 PM

Description

Network Services will apply a software patch to the Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) to address a known memory leak.

Expected Impact:
No disruption to campus network access is anticipated during this maintenance. However, ISE is a critical authentication and authorization platform that controls access to network resources, including wireless connectivity, internet access, and other network services. While no outage is expected, there is a small risk that authentication services could be temporarily affected during the maintenance window.

  • Wireless Network Authentication
  • Wired Network Authentication (802.1X/MAB)
  • Guest Network Access
  • Network Resource Authorization
  • Internet Access Authentication Services

 Networking Wireless issues (TritonSecure and TritonNet) 6/15/26 1:40pm

 The networking team has completed monitoring this outage, and all services are operational

Wireless Services have been restored, and network engineers will continue to monitor services.

UMSL Wireless Services have deteriorated, and we are experiencing problems with TritonSecure and TritonNet. We are engaged with the vendor and working to reboot services to restore them. We will continue to work on the problem until it is resolved.  This should only affect new wireless connections.

 Campus VPN Authentication Issues – 6/15/2026

VPN Services have been restored, and network engineers will continue to monitor services

 

UMSL Networking is investigating an authentication issue affecting the Campus VPN.

Remote access to campus resources via VPN and new authentication to TritonNetGuest may be affected.

 Fine Arts Building is being affected by Ameren’s power outages in the area, June 11th 3pm

Description

Update: 6/11/26 5pm Power has been restored by Ameren and Internet and Phone services is back for Fine Arts Building

 

There is a power disruption on campus due to Ameren causing network and telephone problems, facilities is monitoring the situation.
