 UMSL Campus – Internet Outage


All services should be fully operational.


ITS continues to work on some of the systems from this mornings power outage.


Networking is currently addressing a critical Internet infrastructure malfunction.  Currently the UMSL campus and all remote sites served by the campus is without Internet.

ITS system administrators will apply critical security updates to Windows and Linux servers. There will be brief disruptions to:

  • TritonApps sessions
  • Unix home directories
  • Print and fax services
  • SharePoint sites
  • WWW sites
  • UMSL Blogs and other WordPress blogs
  • Library databases
  • Web applications running on, and

PeopleSoft applications including MyView, MyHR, etc. will not be affected.

 Networking Equipment failure on MSC 3rd floor.


We had equipment failure on the 3rd floor of MSC. Some users might be experiencing no Network and Phone Services at the moment. We have technician currently working on issue.

Construction crew on the 3rd floor tripped circuit, power seems to have been restored for now.

 Canvas and other Amazon hosted systems outages and slowness


There are outages with all amazon hosted services. Some may be slow and some may be unavailable. Various campus groups are monitoring the situation.

The list of services includes but is not limited to:

– Canvas LMS
– Pearson
– WileyPLUS
– iClicker
– Panopto
– SmarterProctoring
– Lockdown Browser
– Voice Threads

 Power Outage – 12/03/2021 10 PM to 2 AM – Benton Hall – TJ/Mercantile – Clark Hall –

Start Time: 12/3/21 10:00 pm - End Time: 12/4/21 2:00 am


Facilities is working closely with Ameren to have a planned power outage this Friday, December 3 starting at 10 PM.  The outage will last approximately four hours and affect Benton Hall, TJ/Mercantile Library, and Clark Hall.  All power and Air Conditioning will be off during these hours.  All network connectivity will be limited in these areas.
